Pass+ Brochure Design

The Challenge:
My current employer, the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) www.aaae.org was invited to demonstrate their Pass+ digital signage system to Avis Rent-A-Car. In addition to the product demo, AAAE wanted to an engaging brochure design that detailed the available features of the system and showcased a sample installation at an Avis rental counter. The Solution:
Since Avis was not a current client of Pass+, I did not have access to a photograph of an already installed digital signage system for the brochure design. To remedy this, I found a stock photo online of a couple interacting with a hotel clerk. Using this photo I composited a sample page of the Pass+ product demo onto a plasma TV screen. I then placed the TV behind the clerk and added a set of keys to the desk to subtly transform the hotel environment into a car rental scene.

To visually connect the photo composite to the rest of the brochure design, I created a circle cut out of a “close up” taken from the TV screen. I repeated this element at the bottom of the brochure design to include competitor logos.

These bottom circles served two purposes:

  1. To instill a sense of urgency to “buy now” by reminding the client that this service could easily be offered to their competitors
  2. To act as area to easily swap logos between the TV screen demo page, if we were to approach another car rental company

Higher on the page I added a blue box that jumps out from the page that includes a powerful quote testifying to the profitability of having a digital signage system. Because of its size, location, and color, this is one of the first elements the client reads (next to seeing the competitors logos at the bottom) all in the hopes of helping the client “sell themselves on the profit gains” achievable through the Pass+ product, before one of their competitors does.
